Made-to-Measure Laminated
Roller Blinds

Most of our beautiful fabrics can be laminated and made into a roller blind.

Roller blinds are neat, practical and perfect for small windows or where space is limited.
They are ideal for allergy sufferers when you are aiming to limit the amount of soft furnishings in a room whilst maintaining a fun, stimulating and unique decorative scheme.

Our roller blinds are of the highest quality, individually made specifically for each customer.  Fabrics are laminated onto a backing cloth, either standard or blackout,  and the blinds are supplied with all fittings, can be standard or reverse rolled - see below - with continuous chain-link cords on either side as required.  All blinds are supplied with a safety cord guard.

ROLLER BLINDS

Roller Blinds can be fitted inside the window recess, close to the glass or outside the window recess covering the whole area.

They can stand alone or be fitted with curtains, in either the same fabric or a co-ordinating design.

Pro's:
- ideal for very small windows where you want to allow the maximum light in.
- ideal for short windows where roman blinds would obscure too much light.
- great where space is limited.
- perfect for allergy sufferers as there is a minimum amount of fabric and no pleats or frills for dust to hide in.

Maximum width:  3m

REVERSE ROLL
The fabric falls from the front of the roll so that the roll cannot be seen.
You cannot see the reverse side of the blind.

We recommend reverse roll for blinds being fitted inside the window recess.

STANDARD ROLL
This is how all ready-made roller blinds are made, with the fabric falling from behind the roll.  The fabric is closer to the glass but the reverse side of the fabric can be seen around the roll.

We recommend standard roll for blinds being fitted outside of the recess as they hang closer to the wall (but this one is inside a recess)

GUIDANCE FOR MEASURING

First - decide where your blind is to hang, inside or outside of the recess.

If fitting inside the window recess
We need to know the exact width and height of your recess; they are rarely square.
Measure the width at the position you plan to fit the blind i.e. at the top of the recess close to the window.
Measure the height at three points, right, left and centre - tell us the shortest measurement.
We will make the necessary allowances to ensure a perfect fit.

If fitting outside of the window recess
We need to know the finished fabric width you require (remember, the fittings will be slightly wider) and the finished fabric drop.

Radiators
If you want your blind to stop just above the radiator, measure to the radiator and then deduct 1cm for the finished length.

ROLLER BLIND POSITIONING

The majority of roller blinds are fitted inside the window recess, either with or without curtains.
if you prefer the drape of sateen lined curtains but need the blackout effect consider having a blackout roller blind and cotton sateen lined curtains.

If you wish to fit the blind outside of the recess ensure that the blind extends at least 5cm each side and approximately 10cm above the recess.
Because our roller blinds are supplied with a continuous chain side-winder mechanism you have total control of how far up and down your blind goes unlike the old-fashioned central spring pull that never seemed to stop exactly here you wanted it to.  This allows you to pull the blind down to the window sill or below it as required.

Continuous chain side-winder mechanism
We strongly recommend these be positioned as far away as possible from the cot, bed, or any other furniture that can be climbed on.
All blinds are supplied with a safety cord guard but if you choose not to use this It is advisable to tuck the chain up on top of the blind, well out of the reach of children, when not in use.

CARE OF YOUR ROLLER BLIND

Roller blinds cannot be washed but they do benefit from the occasional vacuum using the upholstery tool on your cleaner.
